How long are Catholic Wedding Ceremonies without the Mass?

Question by Rainia W: How long are Catholic Wedding Ceremonies without the Mass?
I know with the Mass they are 40 min-1h long, but how long are they without the Mass?

Best answer:

Answer by mine
If you take out communion, it shortens mass by about 15-20 minutes. If you take out the readings and only do the vows, it would only be about 10 minutes long and wouldn’t really be a Catholic mass anymore.

Hi when your starting a wedding planning business it is important to build connections..

You can try by offering free wedding planning for a few weddings. This will get you contacts with a few brides. You can post your free offer online at craigslist, facebook and your myspace bulletin.

You can also try connecting with other wedding vendors such as photographers, florist, videographers etc. You can offer them referrals from new clients, if they send you some brides.

You can try making postcards or business cards with your offer & placing it in grocery stores, bridal shops, hotels, etc.

If you have advertising money going to bridal shows are great you get connected with alot of brides in a short amount of time. Most shows bring in at least 100 brides and some can bring as much as 1,000 brides to the show in 1 day. Plus being at a show is another way for you to get your information out to other vendors who are at the show with you.

If you are looking for a long term marketing tool I would say your website is a big tool. You can start by buying things to get your lisiting unto the first page with your competition. Making sure you have links to other sites , try offering some vendors a trade off if they link to you , you will link to them .

Last important tool is a blog, having a blog that you keep updated can bring your site more attention & is another link you can add to your site.

I hope some of these ideas helped , I am in the wedding industry myself so best wishes to your new business venture.

Here’s a few ideas:
Lake Marburg at Codorus State Park

http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/codorus.aspx

The grounds of the Gitt Library on Rte 194 towards Abbottstown. I’ve seen a number of weddings there. They will let you cater your event so you could do an inexpensive cook-out.

Adams-Hanover Archery or Outdoor Club. This is located near Abbottstown. There is an outside area by a pond that is very pretty. There is an indoor facility that, while isn’t gorgeous, could be decorated for a pretty reception.

A little pricier but:
The Bridges – golf course but you could have lovely wedding on the deck with appetizers and cake reception http://www.bridgesgc.com/content/view/42/138/

In Hanover at the area by the water dam is beautiful. You could set up a tent

Good luck

Q&A: How did wedding ceremonies evolve to what they are today?

Question by I’m with Stupid.: How did wedding ceremonies evolve to what they are today?
In the Bible and in some cultures, you give a dowry, consumate the marriage then boom! you become man and wife. Where did the ceremony that we attend today originate from? When did the practice of exchanging vows, rings, the ministers, the bridal party, all the parts of a wedding ceremony begin?

How Do I Get My Fiance Involved in the Wedding Planning?

Question by Candice Jones: How Do I Get My Fiance Involved in the Wedding Planning?
My fiance is no help at all when it comes to wedding planning. When do I need to include him and when should I draw the line? I don’t want to burn him out on everything before our wedding, but no one else will lend a hand.

Best answer:

Answer by Guoji Far
It can be frustrating when your fiance isn’t as interested in and excited about planning the wedding as you are — you may be feeling disappointed, because as you say, it’s your wedding, with “your” in the plural! You don’t mention how he’s being unhelpful — does he just not care what color the flowers are, or what kind of food you serve? He may just truly feel that his work is done (he asked you to marry him!) and now all he needs to do is just show up. Let him know that you’d really like more from him than that.
If he knows that it’s hurting your feelings that he’s pretty uninterested in the planning, he may be willing to at least humor you. Tell him you’re feeling alone, because there’s no one else to help you, and it’s really something you’d like to share with him. Is there any wedding-planning task you think he would enjoy? Does he love music, and so might be interested in finding a great band? Or choosing the microbrews for the reception? You may or may not feel comfortable with giving him total responsibility for these things if he really seems uninterested, but try and convince him that you two can do them together.
You shouldn’t feel alone during your wedding planning, and he probably doesn’t mean to make you feel that way, either — so talk to him about it!

It’s an old Roman tradition. The ancient Romans believed that the joint partaking of the cake created a magic bonding. The sweetness symbolized the couples’ future happiness and the grain held the promise of a fruitful union
